Chinese languages

Everyone here who wants your name traslated into Chinese, Japanese, whatever. First of all... this is a Chinese forum, but if you ask how to say your name in Japanese I speak it and I can tell you... IT'S PHONETIC! It's rather mangled phonetisism as well, Japanese consonant sounds all end in a vowel (with exception of the lone N sound)! You'll be sadly disappointed if you want to sound "asian" as they call it (or aZn if you're a retarded 12 year old half-breed). Which may I remind you all, Asia is an ENTIRE CONTINENT! You don't go to "Asia" on vacation, get a bowl haircut, put on a straw chinese farmers hat, and write caligraphy all over the walls.
NOW, Onto Chinese. Chiense ideograms represent words or ideas. The name George represents "George". See a problem with that yet?! Unless you want to trace the meaning of your generic white name back to it's European roots and translate it's classical meaning, and then get off by puting your imaginary "Translated Chinese" name on your ass, don't expect anyone else to do that and explain it to you! And as much as I hate to disappoint everyone, Chinese people don't love you so much they've given you your OWN character in their language which just happens to mean "Cucumber" as well. But hell, if you want to permantantly put the word "elbow joint" on your arm and play super trendy CHINA MAN, go ahead and get laughed at.

Of course, folks will still read it and ask for the very same, the Chinese alphabet, all the Chinese alphabet, and symbols to boot.

Some are kind enough to provide the characters, and others like me, skip to a different message.

In sci.lang.japan, they look down their noses at such tattoo stuff, often translating them into vulgar body parts, so the foolish can have their characters, and if they're silly enough to take such advice. Beware folks!

Another thing folks over there don't like is anime fans and the constant request for translations. I don't mind these on one level if they do help them to learn another language, though I must say my Japanese is reading only rather than writing.
