the meaning of "gan"?

I was just wondering what does the word "gan" mean like as if someone said "Lei Ho Gan" -- What are the possible meanings? [easy?]

And does it relate to the word "gan nang"? - I've heard gan nang before, I think -- but is "gan" similar? How would you define "gan nang"?
