Phonetic translation for famial titles

My son is a new father and he married into a Chinese family in Southern CA. My son's mother-in-law told us that we have specific titles in chinese (Mandarin I believe - they moved from Mainland China to Taiwan and then to US).
However I really struggled to pronouce and wanted to make sure that I understand as thye were all laughing at me...
She said that as the grandmother on father's side (paternal grandmother) my title is pronouced NI NI with the i as a long i vowel sound.
My husband as the grandfather father's side (paternal grandfather) his title is pronounced YA YA (like ha ha) or I could have the two switched.
Could someone provide me with the phonetic translation for the paternal grandparents' titles?
