Translation for drumline tattoo

Here at West Virginia University, our drumline has a tradition of getting a tattoo that means "drum". Years ago they had a guy from the great china buffet draw the chinese symbol for drum on a napkin and they have got it tattooed on many people. I've tried to find what it means to make sure it means drum before I get it tattooed on my body. Can somebody tell me what it really means?
