chinese symbol for forgive or forgiveness

Hello,

I'm looking for a chinese character that means 'forgive' or forgiveness'. I realize these are probably different characters, and would like to know what both are, if anyone can help me. Websites are a little confusing, and I'm not sure what to believe anymore. If anyone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it!
