Hello, I got a nice scarf from a chinese friend. Now I would like to know the meaning of the words written on it. I saw the text on the scarf too late to ask him directly.

The characters are likely 新潮印花 (xīncháo yìnhuā). 新潮 means "new trend", and might refer to the name of the manufacturer of the scarf. 印花 means "printing" (as in calico printing).
