Can anyone help me translating the following suffix:
lan3gan2
兰 干
I've got it repeteadly in certain locations' names in an actual Xinjiang map.
Thanks in advance.

For the first 兰 (trad. 蘭) I find lan2 - orchid,
for the second 干 (trad. 幹) I find gan4 - to work/to do/to manage
together maybe garden?
Maybe seen together with 乡 (xiang1) - country/village
I'm not sure, so more ideas please.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.
I also found "orchid" referred with "lan", but I guess it's something related with cattle sheds or shelters.
As you posted, they are related with human locations like "xiang" or "zheng". In fact whay i'm looking for it's the translation of a map human location.

Out of context, the 2 words doesn't mean anything... Maybe you scan the map and put up a link to it?
