Hope that you are well too. It's been quite a while. Apparently everybody is kind of busy now. So few postings nowadays
Friends, recently I just found out an interesting similarity between English and Hokkien. The word "very" in English means both "extremely" (adv) and "genuine/true" (adj. -> Latin "verus"). In Hokkien, 真 cin1 also means both. In Mandarin usually they are 很 (hen3) and 真 (zhen1) respectively, although may be some people also use 真 zhen1 for both. Indonesian usually use "sangat" and "benar/sungguh" respectively, although "sungguh" can mean both too. Is it also true for other languages?
This is the first time I am able to get access to this website again since early March. I have been trying every day at different time periods like mornings, afternoons, evenings and even midnights, but each time without success. I think Andrew might have experienced similar problems. Today is my lucky day. I thought I was going to try one more time just for the sake of trying. And I got through. How marvelous! I get to read many new entries since the time I was cut off. I hope I will be this lucky every day from now on so that I may be able to input my two cents worh. (Today I can't because I need time to catch up with new entries for more than a month.) I sincerely wish every one well and good luck.
