Is it possible to translate one single letter into chinese? I would like to know how the letter R is written in chinese, for a tattoo.

"啊盧" pronounced "ah low" (Cantonese), and "A Lu" (Mandarin).
This is more like a transliteration rather than an exact translation of a single letter from Chinese to English (which cannot be done).
Each character in Chinese usually has a meaning in itself, or meaningless in the case where the Chinese character is used as a conjunction/non-lexical context.
Hope this helps=)
