2. Don't old three old four.
3. Look and look, see and see.

Re: Chinese English
Hi, Fio
Thanks so much. You are great!
The information is indeed very useful. I hope 'look and look, see and see' really means 'zuo gu you pan 左顾右盼'. As I need to be sure that the data is accurate, do you have any source (or other friends) that can confirm with this particular phrase?
By the way, could I also have the tone number side by side with the Hanyu Pinyin.
I look forward to hearing from you. And, many thanks.
Jacqui

Re: Chinese English
Yeah, there are more kinds of chinese. Of course you have all kind of dialects but in writing there are two different ways to spel. One is the traditional way, who was usual until the twenties. At that moment there was revolution going on in China and the new rulers of the nation wanted to make the language more easer, also for the normal farmers, so they could learn how to write. An that easy way is the regulair way of Chinese... I believe

Re: Chinese English
If you want to learn Chinese, learn standard Chinese first. Treat other Chinese dialects as completely different languages altogether, even though both may share similar characters in an overlap of use, you get the odd word and character phrase differing, along with the whole pronunciation business.
