警察..在中华民国的时候是用这个词..
但是.中国解放后..用的是 公安...
随着我们香港警匪片在内地的流行..
越来越多人喜欢把公安叫警察..
但是.我们现在的警察局并不叫警察局.而叫公安局..
我们中国人从小就知道一句话..
"有困难找警察叔叔"

If you're talking about Cantonese, yes! There are words (modern terms) that are coined by / influenced by the Japanese. For example: the word for station in Chinese (站) the Japanese writes (駅).
