Why 肉 is written like 月?

our professor told us to explore 214 radicaks...
But I have a problem with 月 because I don't know why in some cases 肉 is written like 月?
The only thing I know that it doesn't have any etymological ground.
Could anybody answer me?

chinese character is pictograph. when moon is not round, it like chinese 月．as meat(肉), it just like you put food in your mouth(口)

I‘m a native Chinese.
in fact ,sometimes 月 has some meaning of 肉 ,when it is as a part a word ,such as 膑、脍etc. but the time 月 means MOON ,they have no etymological ground.
