Cantonese in Singapore
Just found out that HK cantopop star Eason Chan spoke almost exclusively in Cantonese in his Singapore concerts. While Singapore does have a sizable Canto speaking population, Eason's fans should be mostly younger generations who in general lost fluency in any Chinese "dialects". So is there a chance that many young singaporeans are picking up Cantonese through canto music, TV and movies?
