Hi all

What a surprise for me to find this post!
I also come from French Polynesia (iaorana a tous!) and i'm quite very surprised to see that there are some people from french polynesia replying to it!

Anyway, it's my 1st time in this forum and like most of you, i'm looking for my origins!

Bye all

Hei everybody, For the one looking for a Hakka community in france, I don't think you ll find one, I think you ll find most of the hakkas in french polynesia. But you try the china town in Paris(13eme arrondissement I think).
At least you can find one hakka(me) but Im in Bordeaux so thats maybe to far.

For Dylan sung and FRD we sure have differences between our dialects, I would say something like "tcho lai" than "tso lai". Well I'm relearning my langage so that maybe wrong.
And we don't say Ngi hao but something like "Hao mo".

Hakka in France

This is an interesting blog.

FRD, I think your grandma hakka is a bit short cut. That is how the old people talked.
In my generation, the sentence would be this way, "ngai mti kiadui tso nai4 vui loi qi ko nai4 tang"

Sorry I am not good in tone.

Translaltion: "I do not know where they come from, went through where or which places?"
