The simple answer is no. I know a woman who is non-Hakka with that surname. Doesn't Jiang Zemin the former president of China have Shanghai connections?xiaojian wrote:I'm wondering if Jiang (river) is only a Hakka surname, because in my grandfather's clan association based in Rangoon, Burma, there are only Hakka members. All Hakkas with the last name Jiang spell it Kong.
Are you a hakka from Burma? I am a hakka origin from Burma. I wanna know more imformation about hakkas from burma. I think i have lost all my hakka traditions as my grandparents don't practice anymore. We go only fujian temple in rangoon. I never know whether there is a hakka temple or not.
