Re: free to answer your question about chinese language
Hello Xiezhichun,
I'm a Belgian girl (My native language is Dutch) and lately I've seen some great Chinese movies. Since I saw these, I'm really interested in China.
I know hardly anything about the Chinese culture and its language, but I'd really like to learn more about it.
Since you know English, you can explain the big differences between western languages and Chinese to me. I have the impression that Chinese and English are entirely different: grammar, vocabulary, how you make your sentences, the writing, pronunciation...
I think that a lot of Chinese words have several meanings, is that right?
I looked up the word "wind" in a dictionnary and I got a whole list of different words, each meaning "wind". I only remember one word: feng
I also looked up a Chinese word and it had several meanings. It seems extremely difficult to me.
Are you willing to explain it to me?
Thank you!
Kind regards, Annemieke

2 separate translations
Hello,
My name is Howie and my wife and I are adopting a little girl from China. I would like to welcome and wish good fortune on the child. I would like to make two separate signs in traditional chinese.
One stating;
Welcome child!
The other wishing something along the lines of;
Good fortune through life's journey
If anyone could help me that would be great!!
Regards,
Howie
