try the dictionary associated with this site, it is excellent, the best I have found. Pingyin is mandarin using the roman alphabet but with slightly different phonetics eg the letter q is pronounced (ch ) and i (ee) so the mandarin word ( QI ) is pronounced ..........? you guessed it CHEE, see ? and Li is, pronounced LEE . The ZH is J so ZHOU sounds like JOE.
