What to say if someone say "doh zhe" to me?

Post by jilang »

Hi

I gave someone something and they said "doh zhe (duo xie)" to me. What is a polite reply to this? Would it be "m goi"?

Thanks

you would say "m sai". doh zhe and m goi both sort of mean thank you except m goi is thank you for a job that someones done for you like if someone bags the things for you in a grocery store.

haak hei

haak hei (客氣) is hospitality. if you say mh hou haak hei (or mh sai haak hei) you are telling them that it is not good, or that they don't need, to be so hospitable or polite to you.
