Hello. The guy I spoke to said that the term he was talking about sounded like "xiao lian" in Taiwanese Hokkien, and it meant "young punk".

奧仁 or "ao ren" is a Taiwanese slang for bad person.

Hi Mavericker I am not Taiwanese, but on tv I heard them called gangsters lo5-mua5 [written as 流氓]. I don't know why the characters are read as lo5-mua5 but that's what I usually heard.
