I got a bit confusing, mate.
as a Chaozhou ren or Chaozhou person, all I know is Swatow is in Teochew dialect (潮州話) and Shantou is in Mandarin.

Yes, they should.
Simplify Chinese is even harder than traditional Chinese for me to learn.
I don't see any reason why do I need to learn simplify Chinese but because of my family
