Characters/ symbol

Post by Cynthia Huntley-Pacano »

Good day,

I have been conducting a personal research project and find this site:
Chinese Language Forum of great interest.
As I hope to learn the meaning of three characters/symbols which are engraved the base of my hand carved tiger... derived of a unknown hardstone

The first character has only two strokes: a horizontal line which is supported by a vertical line; the script can best be described as the English letter, capitol T

The second character appears in the shape of the English letter, capitol .S;
however, the dot which precedes the S is actually located mid center with in the lower level curve

The third character appears exactly as the first symbol: T

Can you help... or at least point me in the right direction!!!!

its supposed to be in the ancient form of chinese writing called 'zhuanshu'(but i bet the person who did that stone for u did it in present writing)when carved on stones. its probably ur name in chinese and the first should be 'pu', maybe a abbr. for ur name pacano. written as one vertical stroke on the left and a dot in the middle in present chinese writing. the second should be 'xin' meaning 'heart', which is the first syllabus of your name cynthia. i think the 3rd word u might have mistaken it. i cant figure it out.
