澎湖話 Penghu dialect

Post by FutureSpy »

A few weeks ago, I found these children materials for Penghu dialect from Taiwan.

http://study.phc.edu.tw/language/

Very different from the typical Taiwanese accent and intonation (or maybe it's the way they read the texts that makes it sound funny)... They use lú 汝 and boh 欲/卜

Hi FutureSpy,

Late reply, sorry. I've only just now got around to having a look at the site.

Thanks for posting it. I'm still amazed how much effort is going into promoting Taiwanese (and now Penang Hokkien :P ) on the Internet. I'm really pleased to see that.

I've heard it said that every island in the ring has its own dialect. But this type seems to be the most widespread or most well-known.
