I'm wondering what the expression "pu chi" (can) mean. We chose it as our band name, because our drummer said he read somewhere that it means "pure energy".
If it does, I'm happy, but I've tried several on-line dictionaries and didn't find any translation that said "pure energy". Since the chinese language is pretty hard for a total outsider to understand and a lot of chinese words and expressions seem to have several meanings, I'm completely lost.
I wouldn't want to look like an idiot to the entire chinese world because of something like a band name, so if you can help me out I'd be really grateful!
Thanx a lot.
Emile
What does "Pu Chi" mean?
Re: What does "Pu Chi" mean?
I myself speak hokkien. Pu can be mean precious or carry and Chi mean energy. From my point of view, I do not think it sound funny and stupid. Hope this will help you.
