I am not sure about the actual meaning of lan1 given by casey.dict give si-bah for anoher word for it
callus 骨痂 bony matter which unites the ends of fractured bones
胼胝 tylosis a thick,hard place on the skin.

"lan1" is written as "令(足旁)".

I think I was wrong about callus as bony matter .It is callus for hard-thickening of skin in hand.corn is for those appear in leg/toe due to pressure of shoes.
In mandarin it is 茧,老茧 ,趼子,老趼,膙子,胼胝,鸡眼.all are lan in minnan.

I can't find english word this gan-kak-moh 眼角膜.maybe it is canthus?

above should say 结kiat4-lan1 for callus,corn,tylosis .

I have tried to post the above for many times until nearly giving up because each time I used brackets for the Chinese words, the posting was rejected and erased by the system. Did anyone encounter the same problem? (The software I am using is Chinese Star 2004 which gives only simplified characters.)

casey,just change to window XP pro with the input from the CDROM.It is fast each time we want to use it and the pc won't hang like we use other input software.Sadly no pinyin input for big 5,we must use other method.
I find one dict add a word in front of phi2 wrote by you.
