The interviewer is Taiwanese, the older guys are tourists from some kind of society from somewhere called peng-O in Zhangzhou. The initial conversation is about whether they have been to Taiwan before, how long they are here, what they are doing, etc. You can here Penang pronunciations in nO, E-muiN, tuiN, etc. The thing I have noticed is their o is more like O, e.g. khO-leng. The middle-aged guy seems to have a more mixed accent. The older guy at the end I can't understand at all because he seems to be speaking quite formal Chinese.
Statistics: Posted by AndrewAndrew — Thu Aug 19, 2010 10:03 am

Shawn.Lin

Re: Longxi / Zhangzhou

I can listen to Medan Hokkien but I really had no idea what was going on save a few words here and there in the youtube link I posted.

Andrew's link sounded more like Medan/ Penang Hokkien but I still can only get afew words here and there unfortunately.

Btw I am interested in Longxi as well as this is supposed to be my ancestral village (or is it county?).
