Hong, we usually read 毅 as ge7. This site http://home.kimo.com.tw/profliim/HARNJI-YM/zh4S.htm gives both ge7 and gi7 as the literary pronunciation (wendu). Is there any difference in their usage (when to use ge7 and when to use gi7)?
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:20 am

Some addendum and typing correction to the post above:

Line 2: (What name also got)

Line 6: Whatever ghost is equivalent to whatever thing

Line 12: chap siao is not suck semen. chap is "to bother".

Line 14: Niuc opines that the "ua" means "close/near" instead of "change". I think Niuc is right. But I couldn't figure out the sound of xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

One thing Niuc pointed out is the pronounciation of tiong leng as tiao leng. I too am confused for this. It is impossible for CLHS people not to pronounce the name in Hokkien properly. I guess it is a intended sarcasrstic pronounciation. But I remain puzzled on sarcastic meaning of that pronounciation.

Good morning to all.

Eng Wai
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Mon Jun 06, 2005 8:44 am
